2007 REUNIONS

All Class Reunion Gathering
On April 27, 28 and 29 the City of Chandler celebrated its upcoming 100th birthday in 2012. On Saturday evening, the Chandler Unified School District, accompanied by representatives from Seton Catholic High School, had an ALL CLASS REUNION GATHERING at the lodge at San Marcos Resort. Approximately 75 alumni gathered from the classes of the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s, as well as Hamilton and Seton High School graduates.

The evening featured a poolside barbeque and steel drum accompaniment. The reunion was the first of five annual celebrations the last weekend of April to honor the City. Make plans to join us on April 25, 26 and 27, 2008! Register for 2008 Reunion Online.

Alumni volunteers helped to check in guests for the Celebrate Chandler events.

CHS Alumni Bette and Marjorie Blythe, classes of '49 and '50 respectively, enjoy the Chandler Education Foundation's Wine & Cheese Reception at the San Marcos Resort during Celebrate Chandler Weekend, April 27-29 2007.

Class of 1952
On Saturday, April 28, 2007 the class of 1952 got together for a fun evening of entertainment and bonding at the Ironwood Country Club in Sun Lakes. There were 27 classmates in attendance, primarily from Arizona, but four came into town from California. The reunion began with a social hour and a great performance by the Sun Lakes Cloggers. A buffet dinner was served at 7 p.m. and the rest of the night was spent socializing, reminiscing and just having fun! To get connected to the class of ’52, please contact Gwen Bean through the Chandler Education Foundation.

Class of 1969
In preparation for their upcoming fortieth reunion in 2009, the class of 1969 got together on April 28, 2007 at Serrano’s Restaurant for a mini-reunion with about 29 classmates and their spouses in attendance. The evening started with a fun memory game that required the classmates to name the students in a photo of Mrs. Willis’ fifth grade class at Hartford School in ’61—‘62. That was followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. and plenty of socializing. The event, organized primarily by classmate Carol Jones, has built quite a bit of anticipation and enthusiasm for the reunion in 2009. For more information and to get connected to the class of ‘69, please contact Carol Jones at cjones@quarles.com or 480-861-3633.

On Saturday, October 7, the class of 1996 kicked off their reunion with a tour of the Chandler High School campus. This tour was of special interest to this class, as they attended CHS while it was being renovated and the campus was different every year they attended. Ten years later they were finally able to see the completed project! After the tour the class enjoyed meeting each other’s families at a picnic in Espee Park. That evening, 112 classmates attended a dinner at Macayo’s that featured a slideshow of high school memories as well as updates on what people are up to now. The class of 1996 can’t wait to get together and catch up with everyone in another 10 years!

Class of 1986 Reunion
The class of 1986 had an excellent turnout for their 20th year reunion on October 13-15, 2006. The reunion kicked off with a bang at the Friday night football game where the alumni cheered on their Chandler High School Wolves, followed by a social to catch up and reminisce. The next night the approximately 150 attendees gathered at the Chandler Community Center for a meal catered by Serrano’s and entertainment provided by Motor City Entertainment. They also had a successful raffle with more than 60 donated items while GoldenEye Photography captured the evening. The reunion concluded Sunday with a picnic at Espee Park. Not wanting to wait another 10 years to get together, the class of ’86 is already planning a 25th reunion.

‘The more the merrier’ seemed to be the theme of the tri-class reunion on the weekend of October 20-22, 2006. The festivities, all held at the San Marcos resort, kicked off with a cocktail party Friday evening. On Saturday morning the group met on the front lawn of Chandler High School for breakfast and class photographs, immediately followed by a tour of the campus. The culminating event, however, was the banquet on Saturday with 150 class members in attendance! Each classmate was invited to say a few words and everyone had a great time reminiscing. There were some special guests in attendance, including “Coach” Rule and his wife Betty as well as Jean Grover, former owner of the Sip & Bite.

In early November a reunion booklet was mailed out which included bios of those attending and those who responded but couldn’t attend with plenty of photos from the reunion. These three classes plan to have several events as Chandler approaches its 100th Birthday in 2012!

Classes of 1956 Reunion
On October 6-7, 2006 the CHS Class of 1956 had an exceptional 50th reunion with approximately 50 class members and 25 of their spouses. On Friday night they combined with the classes of ’54 and ’55 for a celebration and walk down memory lane. Saturday morning, two generations came together in honor of their alma mater as a group from the class of ’56 joined a group from the class of 1996 and toured the Chandler High School campus. That evening, the class of ’56 enjoyed time together visiting over delicious food. The weekend was a great time for all who came.
