DISTRICT
DIRECTED PROGRAMS Student
Crisis Fund Established to provide assistance to students facing serious life altering
illness or injuries, the Student Crisis Fund is a testament to our community’s
dedication to all of its children, especially those in need.

Children's Fund The Children's Fund was established in 1998, sponsored by the Chandler
Education Association (CEA), in partnership with the Chandler Unified School
District. Employees' donations of "cents over the dollar" from each paycheck
helps enrich the lives and education opportunities of children and employees
within the district. Last year CUSD employees contributed almost $5,000.
San Marcos Family Resource
Center The San Marcos Family Resource Center was established in 1995 to provide
basic medical and social services for needy Chandler students and their
families. The Children's Clinic, a keystone service of the San Marcos Family
Resource Center, provides acute-care medical treatment, well-child check-ups,
and sports physicals for uninsured Chandler youth birth to 18 years of age.
The center also hosts an
emergency food and clothing bank and facilitates evening adult education
English-as-a-Second Language classes, and GED classes. The Resource Center is a
wonderful example of what can be done when charitable, governmental, and private
agencies join together with private citizens to serve the community.
Chandler High School
Leadership and Intervention The CHS Leadership and Intervention Program provides leadership training for
juniors and seniors who mentor incoming freshmen students in order to facilitate
their transition to high school. Conflict Resolution Training for peer mediation
is also provided through the Leadership and Intervention Program.
Giggles, Squiggles and
Squirms™ The Giggles,
Squiggles and Squirms program uses a unique 32-week curriculum plan for three
and four year olds and their parents, introducing a new read-aloud book every
four weeks. Home liaisons meet with parents and give them books, supplies and
activities to complete with their children. As the parents read the books to
their children, they do accompanying activities such as counting, sorting,
matching, movement, poetry and cooking. This program assists parents in being
their child’s first teacher. Visit
www.azpirc.com for more
information about the AZ State Parent Information Resource Center program.

“SENIORS SAYING THANK
YOU” The Seniors
Saying Thank You program was started in the 2002/2003 school year by a 2003 Hamilton
High School graduate. The program was designed to give CUSD seniors the
opportunity to recognize and thank the teacher who had the greatest influence
on them during their time at school. Forms are passed out to all seniors who
then write a personal thank you note to their favorite teacher. Completed
forms are screened and then delivered to the respective teacher through CUSD
mail. The Chandler Education Foundation would like to see the program continue
and is looking for a CUSD student to administer the project. Do you know of
someone who might be interested? If so, please call 480-812-7633 or send an
email to
