RECOGNITION RECEPTION
The Chandler Education Foundation awarded more than $262,000 in
scholarship money to Chandler Unified School District students May 6th.

The foundation’s annual evening of awards and recognition celebrated
the accomplishments of CUSD high school students while also recognizing
their most influential teachers. This year’s $262,000 total is the
largest amount of scholarship money awarded in a single year by the
Chandler Education Foundation.

The recognition ceremony, which was held at the Castle at Ashley Manor,
was sponsored by the Castle at Ashley Manor, Robert’s Catering, Inc.
and Intel. Students, parents and teachers were invited to celebrate the
district’s top students.

“It was amazing the way these Chandler companies and donors stepped
up to help recognize our students. It showed them that it’s not just
their teachers and parents that care about their success, but the whole
community,” said Glenna McCollum-Cloud, CEF executive director.

More than $90,000 was given out in the form of community-donated
scholarships, with 67 scholarships going to deserving seniors.

Additionally, CEF awarded 172 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each
to students who participated in VISION:CollegeBound.
