VISION:CollegeBound
SCHOLARS PROGRAM VISION:CollegeBound is an innovative college
tuition program started by the Chandler Education Foundation in 1995 that
requires students to commit as freshmen to maintain their grades and
attendance and complete at least 100 hours of community service throughout
their high school years. Based on student effort and dedication
VISION:CollegeBound makes college an attainable goal for every student. Since
its inception, the program has awarded more than $750,000 in scholarships and
VCB students have provided over 113,500 hours of service to the community.
Announcing the new
VISION:CollegeBound SCHOLARS program for the class of 2011 In an effort to increase the value of the VISION:CollegeBound
program, while still meeting the needs of our growing school district, the
Chandler Education Foundation is introducing the modified VISION:CollegeBound Scholars program for the class of 2011. We are revamping the program
so students have the potential to get even greater rewards from it and be better
prepared for college.
· Requirements staying the same:
Students will still commit as freshmen to maintain a 3.4 GPA, 95% attendance and
complete 100 hours of community service throughout their high school years. It
is strongly recommended that students complete 25 hours per year.
· New addition(s) to come to the program:
CEF is in the process of organizing leadership coaching for our VCB Scholars
that will help them develop a portfolio, establish goals, track accomplishments
and document service learning experiences.
· Changes to the program: Rather than
funding a set amount of money, qualifying students will now get an equally
divided amount of what is designated that year by CEF for the
VISION:CollegeBound program. Students can use their funding for tuition at any
post-secondary accredited college or university in Arizona. See below for
details on how to enroll in the program.
2007 Freshmen Only (class of 2011) Tentative
open enrollment dates for VISION:CollegeBound are: Wednesday, March 26
through Friday, April 4, 2008. Deadline to turn in signed forms to your
